RUTHIE
Intro to Boatbuilding Semi Dory
I was gifted tuition to the WoodenBoat School for my 40th birthday and convinced my best buddy Seth to join me in John Karbott's Intro to Boatbuilding class (you can see this boat being built on the listing for the class).
BUCKBOARD SAILBOARD
After building this boat at age 16, Brandon Camp writes "It is Ken Hankinson's design, Buckboard, purchased from Glen-L Marine Design. It has a length on deck of 11'11" and a beam of 36", and weighs 85 pounds. The rig is a 66 square foot lateen sail, which can keep up with my Mom's Lido!
Reaux Boat
I completed the Lumber Yard Skiff based on the plans I purchased from The WoodenBoat Store. It is constructed of cypress planking for its sidewalls, cedar boards are used for the deck, bottom, and benches. It is sealed with fiberglass matte and marine epoxy.
GERRYLU
Nick Riggio built the GERRYLU, a Steve Redmond Whisp design, from Meranti plywood, cypress wood, and mahogany. Nick was a student at Greg Rossel's WB School Fundamentals of Boatbuilding class in the summer of 2002. GERRYLU is 15'7" x 3'6" and is used on the lakes near Webster Groves, MO.
"It'll Do"
On Saturday August 12, 2017 at Green Lake in Dedham, Maine I launched, with my daughter Jackie and her husband Ryan Francini my Jericho Bay Lobster Skiff that I named “It’ll Do”. I purchased the plans from WoodenBoat Magazine and began construction in February.
Community School of Davidson "Wee Lassie"
Community School of Davidson is at it again, this time launching a Dave Gentry designed “Wee Lassie” built by 6th and 7th grade students at their middle school. Instructor Jim Dumser built it with eight students from the Friday “explore elective” over the fall and winter.
Lil' Miss Canada
Lil Miss Canada is a 12′ 1954 cold moulded plywood Wagemaker Wolverine. Hull number M679 with the original 1954 Johnson 25HP RD - 15 still running well.
Traditional Canoe
During August 2010, Don Warfield, Phil Andrews, and Lamar Keeney were among the students who took Jerry Stelmok’s class in Traditional Wood-and-Canvas Canoe Construction at the WoodenBoat School in Brooklin, ME.
CHOG 18
Jerry Mathieu and Roland Desmarais designed and built this Chog 18, based on lines taken from a Westport Skiff, a design that has been around for 60 years. This hull is 17' 10" long with a 6' beam. It has 3/8' okoume plywood on the sides and -+ composite fir plywood on the bottom.
